Love, everyone thinks they know it
Some say it’s a feeling; others make it sound so poetic
But it can make you jump out of your wits
When emotions are satisfied or lack moments so romantic
And what you hear and see is sh……(I won’t say it)
For truth’s admittance is too prophetic
Lies prevail saying, “No don’t admit!”
For words of the mouth and actions of the heart contradict
So your mind tells you to quit
For all you are being told is, “Your thinking is illogic”
And what you see and hear makes knowledge permit
Thoughts so realistic
Please, pardon my language so bold
This is expressions of the soul.
Love, everyone say it’s kind
An act of giving, so why is there selfishness?
Truth be told, love is not blind
When you experience unfairness
And you are left behind
To have feelings of un-forgiveness
For actions tell a different story than words saying, “It’s all in your mind”
Causing you to act out madness
Losing all equilibrium, surely that’s a sign
To separate yourself from immaturity and foolishness
For round-table discussions are not worth even a dime
When they refuse to see you value trustworthiness
Please, pardon my language so bold
This is expressions of the soul.
Love, everyone says its patient
Yet you create turmoil then run away
Saying that you need someone to be content
Expressing you are too busy, when with another you stay
And love is expected to repent
For expressions that called out “ May-day!”
There’s no consideration of the efforts spent
Now things are on the decay
For your words and actions, the two are different
Things must only be done your way
Compromising to meet you half way, I bent
Leaving me not afraid to say
Please, pardon my language so bold
This is expressions of the soul.
Love, everyone thinks it’s long-suffering
I believe it’s to be nurtured
Two people truly communicating
Each at a time be heard
One to the other relating, respecting
Thriving on special moments shared
So in times of storms, together cling unrelenting
Making us soar high as the bird
From the Creator, community and family comes blessings
For love is like a curd
Joyfully, thankfully, we step in time dancing
To a melody only we innerstand whilst posting the do not disturb
Please, pardon my language so bold
This is expressions of the soul.
