The British Virgin Islands Girls Under-17 National Team is taking part in the 2026 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Football Qualifiers, with their Group E games to all take place at Miguel ‘Chocorrón’ Buitrago Stadium in Managua in Nicaragua.

The BVI has been drawn into Group E, which also includes Costa Rica, Cuba, Grenada, and Anguilla.

“Preparation has been challenging at times, but the players are of the understanding that it is hard work,” Women’s Development Director Fitzgerald Carter said ahead of the team’s departure for Nicaragua on Friday, January 23, 2025.

The BVI were beaten 16-0 in their opening game against Costa Rica but are not expected to be too phased by the undesirable result.

“We, at this point, are the lowest ranked team in the group, but that does not depict how we want to end the tournament. So, we’re going to fight — to play hard for the country and to work hard for each other,” Coach Carter had said before the start of the tournament.

The 2026 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers serve as the opening stage on the confederation’s road to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with Round One designed to produce teams that advance toward the Final Round and eventual qualification.

The BVI Squad: Eva Carey, Kaylana Telesford, Divya Nelson, Zakaya Stoutt, Grace Tucker, Dinneiqua Cameron, Joliya Morton, Lily Graham, Aerin Westlake, Carey-Ann Mckie, Kyla Flax, Trinah Liburd, T’kylah Richardon, Kiyah-Starr Shelton, T’nyah Richardson, Albie Lawton, and Camille Cottreau.
